Project details
We have recently completed installation at the Barrhead Foundry for East Renfrewshire Council. This £3.8 million project will provide improved sports facilities, a state of the art library incorporating an ICT learning suite and meeting and conference facilities.
The project also includes a new two storey extension to the existing Barrhead Sports Centre. GDL were asked to design a ventilation solution for the building that would suitably ventilate the space whilst reducing operating costs and energy consumption.
Project overview
Working alongside M&E Contractors Calemero Plumbing & Heating, GDL provided the Natural Ventilation and Louvre package at the learning and Leisure hub in Barrhead.
We designed, manufactured and installed x11 Intelivent Penthouse Turrets and a system of façade units to ventilate the new two storey sports centre. The fresh air enters the building through the façade units and via trench floor grilles. This air flow is controlled by dampers and helps distribute the heat generated by the coils.
