Project details

The new state of the art Malcolm Arnold Preparatory school in Northampton will accommodate up to 420 primary school children. This new build school is on the same site as the Malcolm Arnold Academy and pupils will have shared access to extensive co-curricular and extra-curricular opportunities.

 

Project overview

GDL designed, manufactured and supplied a bespoke heat recovery system, part of our Eco Active range for the school. Our Eco Active 100, 200 and
300 models were selected to ventilate the school, each model handles different requirements depending on the room types and occupancies. Our heat recovery systems are an energy efficient way of maintaining a comfortable environment with a fresh supply of air essential for offices and classrooms. We also manufactured and supplied our Intelivent Solarstore Units at the school.
Our solarstore solution allows increased ventilation in Summer and at times
of high occupancy and also improves the effectiveness of night-time cooling
or night-purge. A solar photovoltaic cell is located on the roof of the penthouse turret itself, the power generated from the cell allows 24-hour supply or
extract ventilation.
